What's included in your temporary housing options?
Everything! All of our housing options are all-inclusive rentals meaning they come fully-furnished & equipped even utilities and unparalleled service. Click here for a detailed list of what's included in your apartment.
How long do I have to wait to hear from you once I fill out the housing request form?
Once you reach out to us, we typically get back to you within one hour, however it could take up to one business day.
Do you require an application and credit check?
There is no application process or credit check required, just reach out to us and we'll find you housing!
What payment methods do you accept?
Flexibility is key, that's why we accept any major credit card, ACH, wire transfers, e-payments and checks.
What is your minimum length of stay?
We offer accommodations from one night.
What if I need to shorten or extend my stay?
No problem! Medical Accommodations provides flexible leases for medical patients allowing you to extend your stay and shorten as needed. If you cancel your reservation, or leave earlier than your scheduled departure date, you can be refunded the nights that get rebooked by another guest. If the apartment you left early from does not get rebooked for the dates that you originally rented then you would still be responsible for the cost. Ultimately you are responsible for the cost of your reservation unless it is rebooked.
Who is MedStays for?
We serve anyone whose life has brought them into the orbit of a hospital or medical center. That includes cancer patients and their caregivers, patients traveling for specialty treatment, doctors and nurses on short or extended assignments, medical students and residents doing rotations, and healthcare workers or researchers coming to the Texas Medical Center for weeks or months at a time. If your stay is connected to medicine in some way, you're exactly who we had in mind.

Where are your properties located?
All of our properties are in Houston, situated close to the Texas Medical Center, one of the largest medical complexes in the world. Each location has its own character, but they're all within easy reach of the hospitals, clinics, and research institutions you're here for. Our current locations are:

How close are your properties to medical centers and hospitals?
Very close. Every MedStays property is selected specifically for its proximity to the Texas Medical Center and surrounding hospitals and clinics. You can see the exact location of each property on its listing page before you book.
How long can I stay?
As long as you need to. We have short-term stays for people whose schedules are still being figured out, and longer-term options for extended treatments, multi-month rotations, or fellowship programs. We work around your timeline, not the other way around.
Can my caregiver or family member stay with me?
Absolutely. We know patients shouldn't have to go through this alone, and we know the people supporting them need a real place to rest too. Many of our properties are set up to comfortably fit a patient and a companion, whether that's a spouse, a parent, a friend, or whoever your person is.

How is MedStays different from a hotel or Airbnb?
A regular hotel isn't designed for a three-month oncology rotation or a week of back-to-back treatment appointments. MedStays is built around the reality of medical stays, longer than a vacation, more demanding than a business trip. You get the kind of setup that actually supports daily life: kitchens, laundry, stable pricing, and a team that understands why you're here.

Is MedStays affordable?
We're not a subsidy program, but we do work hard to keep our prices fair and honest. Whether you're a patient managing medical bills or a hospital employee on a stipend, we believe you shouldn't have to overpay just to have a decent place to stay. What you see is what you pay.

What if I need housing urgently or on short notice?
Reach out to us directly. Medical situations move fast, and we get that. Our team will do whatever we can to find something quickly when you need it most.
Do I need a referral or employer authorization to book?
Nope. Anyone can book directly: patients, caregivers, medical staff, students, and researchers- no gatekeeping required. Just find a property that works for you and go from there.

What do the properties include?
Every listing is a little different, but they're all set up for real living, not just a bed and a TV. Think full kitchens, laundry, comfortable spaces to actually decompress, and the kind of environment that feels more like home than a place you're just passing through.
